Porcelain lamps are made by mixing paper and porcelain clay. In the firing process the paper burns out leaving a delicate, translucent structure; which suffuses any room with a warm glow.
This large lamp is inlaid with lasagne and stained with a mixture of colours; including brown, red and plain clay. When unlit you only see the texture and form of the lamp, the colours are very subtle. When the lamp is lit the colours explode into life, and combined with the angular texture add to the dynamic feeling of movement.
