The inspiration behind this piece is rooted in the energy and freedom of the wind. Capturing its restless movement; shifting unpredictably and reflecting a desire to break away from constraints and move without limitation or direction.
This extra large Porcelain Lamp has been impressed with wild grasses and tiny stars and glazed with cobalt blue and dark green, with the addition of 24 carat gold leaf.
The colours of the porcelain lamp change throughout the day, depending on the different light levels in the room. When lit the lamp emits an ethereal glow, converting the surface decoration into textures of light - highlighting the grasses and stars. When off the lamp becomes a sculptural piece, rich with subtle surface pattern and colour.
This lamp is ideal as a statement piece for the home. Its sculpturally organic form is accentuated by the movement of the textures and colours. There is a pleasing contrast between the dark blues and the accents of gold.
